The Reveal

The Story

Eddie Von Walt is Italian by blood, a barman by birth and an electrician at heart. For years, in the back room of his bar, Volt & Vodka, he chased a single idea: light without wires.

He did it. The Infinite Bulb never goes out, and it needs no socket and no cable. It lights up by itself, out of thin air.

Then two men started asking questions. Nicolas Turbine wants to own the grid. Ben Rod sells lightning to anyone who pays. Both want the bulb, and both know where the bar is.

Every night their customers come first: drunk, buzzing, short-circuited, with current in their veins. Eddie has a counter, a few bottles, a beer tap and a bulb in his pocket.

And he is afraid of the dark.

“They found my bar.”

The Game

Von Walt is a fast, silly, stubborn VR roguelike for Meta Quest. You play Eddie behind the bar of Volt & Vodka, in a 1984 where the customers have electricity in their veins and the only weapons are what you can reach with your hands.

  • Your hands only

No controllers. The game runs on Meta Quest hand tracking: grab a bottle, pour a beer, pinch, point and recall.

  • Defend the counter

Electric customers walk in from the street and lean over your bar. Hit them with whatever is on the counter before their patience runs out.

  • Glass, foam and sparks

Bottles and glasses shatter, beer sprays, and every hit sends current through the cube. Throwing is optional and can be switched on from the menu.

  • Built for sitting down

A horseshoe counter, everything within arm's reach and an adjustable height. No standing and no bending down: point at what fell and call it back.

  • Every night is a run

A roguelike shaped like a shift behind the bar. Survive the night, and the story moves on between runs.

  • Loud and 1984

Neon, thunderstorms outside and a soundtrack of drum machines, synths and heavy bass lines.

Tonight's customers

  • The Dead Battery

Slow, swaying and half asleep. Dark glass and flickering acid-green neon, with a cap on crooked.

  • The AC Junkie

Slim, pink and fast. It dashes in time with the snare, with a Walkman and a headband.

  • The High-Voltage Bouncer

Huge, armored and electric blue. The first beer only breaks its plates.
